Moshe Roas (1981, Israel) is a sculptor based in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Roas sculptures, installations and prints creates a unique environmental experience, inspired by textile and traditional crafts and reflects artist’s interest in organic and artificial materials transformed by natural forces and time.
Roas is a graduate of the Shenkar Engineering & Design College in Tel-Aviv(honors) and of Postgraduate Fine Art Program, Hamidrasha, Beit-Berl (honors).
Moshe also participated “Etching & Paper printing” workshop in Venice, Italy and studied “Advanced Printing Course”, Haystack Mountain School of Craft, US.
Moshe won number of scholarships and awards such as “Same sky same land” scholarship in 2015 (curator Uri Tzaig), award of Excellence “Talente 2009” International Exhibition for young talents, Munich, Germany and “Award for Art and Design In the field of Textile Design” Ministry of Culture 2014, Israel.
Moshe had a solo exhibition “Undoing” at Periscope Gallery , Tel Aviv , curator : Irena Gordon and participated in many group exhibitions: “And the Winners Are: The Ministry of Culture Prizes”, curators: Noa Rosenberg, Maya Vinitsky, Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Israel in 2014; “Sculpture: allegories of the present”, curator: Irena Gordon in 2016; “The Biennale for Drawing in Israel”, curator: Tal Yachas, Jerusalem, Israel in 2013; “Remote Viewing” curators: Agnezka Sachar, Mayan Shelef, Mocak Museum of Contemporary Art, Krakow, Poland in 2017 and more.
